Mental health can affect people of all ages, income, gender, education and cultures. In any given year, 1 in 5 Canadians will personally experience a mental health problem or illness. Mental health is and continues to be a serious concern among people all around the world. Increased awareness and education are needed to better understand how we can help those who suffer from mental health issues. At Maximizer we decided to get out and Walk the Talk as part of Mental Health Week 2019.
On Friday May 10th, 2019, Maximizer CRM hosted the Walk the Talk event, a charity walk in partnership with the Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA) This walk was held along the False Creek seawall to raise awareness about mental health. The event helped raise over $1,700 for the CMHA which exceeded our expectations. We are glad we could play this small role to drive impact in a meaningful way within our community. If we are truly to move forward as a society and combat mental health issues, we must not only raise awareness for these issues but also acknowledge they exist in our everyday lives.
Mental health can affect anyone, at any stage in their life. At Maximizer we always work towards maintaining an inclusive workforce. We take pride in our work culture and aim to nurture an environment that incorporates the health and wellness of employees across the company. In addition, we are proud to make Walk The Talk an annual event, which will continue to help raise awareness for important issues regarding mental health.
