The ecSkin Creator adds borders and numbers to each of the HTML table cells in the HTML page in order for the Developer to identify each of the cells, and hence assist them in deciding where and how they would like to add each set of element/component tags.
For each Skin element/component, the ecSkin Creator directs the user to select where they want the different Web site components to appear. In this way the Developer can create a skin that resembles almost any Web page layout-. This functionality allows the Developer to offer e-commerce capability to their client's who have existing "Brochureware" Web sites, and have them operational in days instead of weeks or months.
The elements/components that can be added to the new Skin are as follows:
- Multiple Horizontal Navigation bars
- Multiple Vertical Navigation bars
- The Body Content
- Top and Bottom Banners
- Credit Card images
- Horizontal and/or Vertical Company Address information
- The ecBuilder Logo
- A Hit Counter
When adding each of the different elements, the Developer has the choice to either:
- Insert the Element Tag at the beginning of the selected cell
- Insert the Element Tag at the end of the selected Tag
- Replace the contents of the selected tag with this Element
- Skip the use of that Tag entirely
