Cash Converters cashes in with Maximizer Enterprise

Cash Converters' small head office team manages an operation of over 30 Cash Converter retail franchisees across the country. As a result, most people who work there are constantly on the road, visiting franchisee locations or even working from home. With time to meet only once a week, they required an efficient way to stay connected to each other and to their customers.

The Challenge

Cash Converters was utilizing an earlier version of Maximizer to track contact details, basic phone notes and other communications. With its small team of sales, marketing, accounting and operations managers that managed the day-to-day operations of the business and its franchisees, the team began working out of the office more and more often. To assist them with this, they needed a solution that worked seamlessly with their business structure and processes, allowing them to work with updated information whether they were working at the office, at home or on the road.

The Solution

Andrew Ballenthin, Vice-President of Technology & Business Processes at Cash Converters, works closely with the President, Adrian Armsden, to ensure that the technologies in the company mirror the business processes. This executive buy-in ensures that technology implementation is successful and maximizes efficiency so staff can do more with less time. Ballenthin reviewed the company's options for managing customer information and streamlining workflow including GoldMine. He selected Maximizer Enterprise because of its data structure and superior remote synchronization capabilities. Throughout the deployment of Maximizer Enterprise, Ballenthin managed the cultural change process that came with people changing their work habits.

Since deployment, every user is able to log into the corporate database using the MaxExchange remote synchronizer which simply runs in the background and automatically synchronizes updated information between the server and user computers - whether logging in through their corporate wireless LAN or through the Internet when working from home or on the road with franchisees. Phone calls, letters, meeting minutes and emails are recorded in each franchisees', prospect, or business partners' record to ensure consistent communication and follow-up. Everyone uses the Company Library in Maximizer Enterprise to store central reference legal documents, up-to-date policies, marketing images and radio spots, and key project and audit documents.

The end result of the Maximizer Enterprise installation is that the company enjoys improved workflow. User efficiency gives people more time in a day to get more done, ultimately servicing franchisees and prospects faster. Meeting in the office once a week has become an effective way of doing business without losing touch with one another or the customer and creating a 'virtual' head office for Cash Converters managers.
